Baum des Konsums

Klára Némethy wickelte für ihre Installation einen Baum mit Plastiktüten „bis zum Hals“ ein. Das Phänomen, der sich in den Bäumen verfangenden Plastiktüten ist in der ganzen Welt bekannt. Der “Baum des Konsums“ steht müllbehangen im Garten, obwohl er nicht dahin gehört. Dieser Kontrast deutet auf die Realität hin, dass wir in allen unseren Lebensräumen von erstickend viel Plastik umgeben sind. Die Installation ist eine visuelle Erinnerung an unser ökologisch-verantwortungsloses Konsumverhalten.

Tree of Consumption

Klára Némethy created her installation by wrapping a tree with plastic bags „up to the neck“. The phenomenon of plastic bags caught in trees is known throughout the world. The "Tree of Consumption" wrapped in plastic trash stands in the garden, although it does not belong there. This contrast points to the reality that we are surrounded by suffocating plastic in all our living spaces. The installation is a visual reminder of our ecologically irresponsible consumer behavior.
