One in a Million I

Inspired by a tree on an autumn night in Berlin, One in a Million I envisions society as a living organism composed of countless individual lives. Each leaf represents a person—unique in their identity, history, and fate. Together, they form a greater whole, evoking the sense of belonging that emerges through families, friendships, communities, and fleeting encounters.
Yet the painting also poses a question: What happens when the structures that have held us together begin to disappear? The trunk and branches—metaphors for shared values, institutions, and social cohesion—gradually recede into darkness.
Are we witnessing a society slowly drifting apart? Or are the bonds between individuals strong enough to endure even without a supporting framework?
The work deliberately leaves these questions unresolved. It is both a celebration of human interconnectedness and a reflection on its growing fragility.
